A 20-year-old Altadena man was arrested in the early morning hours of July 4 for allegedly kidnapping and assaulting his San Gabriel girlfriend, sheriff’s deputies said.
According to deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Altadena Station, the suspect came to the victim’s home on July 3 to talk to her about their daughter.
However, as the conversation became argumentative, the suspect allegedly pushed the victim to the ground and forced her into his vehicle, deputies said.
The suspect then drove her around the area for about three hours before finally releasing her, deputies said.
On a tip from deputies at Temple Station in Temple City, deputies from Altadena Station went to the suspect’s last known address in Altadena and discovered his car there in the driveway, officials said.
The suspect voluntarily surrendered himself to deputies and was placed under arrest for kidnapping and assault, deputies said.
He was later booked at Temple Station. In addition, Temple Station detectives are handling the investigation, deputies said.
