

On October 11, 2013 at approximately 10:00 AM, two patrol officers observed a male pedestrian in the area of Hammond Street and Sunset Avenue. Officers attempted to contact the male who ran into a nearby housing complex at Kings Village. Officers pursued the male who allegedly ran from officers and when asked to stop presented a firearm and an officer involved shooting (OIS) occurred. The suspect was shot and transported to Huntington Memorial hospital where he underwent surgery and is expected to survive. A handgun was located near the suspect.
The suspect has been identified as Pasadena resident Paris Holloway, a black male-23 years old. Pasadena Homicide/Assault Detectives were on scene Friday and continue conducting the investigation. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office was notified of the OIS and investigators are looking into the shooting which is standard procedure.
