

The Pasadena Senior Center, 85 E. Holly St., will extend its weekday hours of operation from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. beginning Monday, April 14.
New programs will be added to fill the extended weekday schedule, including cooking, swing dancing, Pilates, tai chi, beginning and advanced billiards, monthly wine and food tasting, film, meditation/relaxation and more.
Celebration of the extended hours will kick off with the very first wine tasting and food sampling Thursday, April 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Pasadena Senior Center. Food will be provided by El Portal and live music will be performed. Cost is only $10. Wine tasting will be scheduled once a month.
“We want to accommodate the growing number of our members 50 and older who are actively working and cannot get to the Pasadena Senior Center before the end of their workdays,” said Executive Director Akila Gibbs.
The center currently closes at 4:30 p.m. on weekdays. Weekend hours will not change; Saturday hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Sunday hours are 8 a.m. to noon.
