May 20, 1965 – September 1, 2014

Evangelist Sheree Caroline Woods, 49, of Duarte, California, went to be with the Lord on Monday afternoon September 1, 2014, at Kaiser Permanante Baldwin Park Medical Center. She was surrounded by family and close friends.

She was born May 20, 1965, in Glendale, California, the daughter of Barbara Harris and Richard Trotter. She was their only child. She married her surviving husband, Van Derrick Woods Sr. on September 4, 1993.

Sheree graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Management from Azusa Pacific University in 2000. Her career spanned over twenty years. Most of it was with Avon Products, Inc. as a regional sales director.

In 1992, she became a member of Lincoln Avenue Celestial Temple and later became a licensed Evangelist. She also served on the Pastor Aide Committee, taught Sunday school, and chaired various fundraising events.

Sheree is survived by her daughter Britini and son-in-law, Chris Jones; son, Van Derrick Jr; grandmother, Wessie Mae Dillon; uncles, Fedro Dillon Jr, Sammie Dillon, Jesse Dillon and Wesley Dillon; aunties, Frances Hickingbottom, Mary Sneed, Katie Jefferson, Gloria Echols, Dorothy Grissom, Sherri Dillon, Debbie Williams, Marion Barnes, Sheila Daniels, Judith Powell and Pamela Dillon; and several cousins.

A service will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 101 E. Foothill, Monrovia, California 91016. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn – Covina Hills in Covina, California.
