

The second phase of construction on Mountain Ave is six weeks ahead of schedule, and will be completed in the coming weeks. This weekend, the Mountain Ave/Duarte Rd intersection will be fully closed to reconfigure the traffic lanes to allow construction of the medians along Duarte Rd. On Monday morning, the intersection will re-open in all directions.
Following the median work, final paving and striping will be performed (also requiring full intersection closures during two separate upcoming weekends).
This work is being performed as part of the 11.5-mile Foothill Gold Line Pasadena to Azusa project.
” FULL INTERSECTION WEEKEND CLOSURE: Friday, September 26 2014 at 9:00 pm thru Monday, September 29, 2014 at 5:00 am*: The Mountain Ave/Duarte Rd intersection will be fully closed to thru-traffic to reconfigure the traffic lanes and prepare for the reconstruction of the medians along Duarte Rd. The intersection will re-open to thru-traffic in all directions no later than Monday, September 29 at 5:00 am. (NOTE: the intersection will temporarily re-open on Saturday, September 27 from 8:00 am to 12 noon during the City of Duarte’s Route 66 Parade).
” Monday, September 29, 2014 thru mid-October 2014*: Work will commence on the medians along Duarte Rd for approximately two weeks with at least one lane of thru-traffic open in all directions.
” FULL INTERSECTION WEEKEND CLOSURE: Friday, October 10, 2014 at 9:00 pm thru Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 9:00 pm.*: The intersection of Mountain Ave and Duarte Rd will be fully closed to thru-traffic to perform the final paving of the intersection.
” FULL INTERSECTION WEEKEND CLOSURE: Friday, October 24, 2014 at 9:00 pm thru Sunday, October 26, 2014 at 9:00 pm*: A final full closure of the Mountain Ave and Duarte Rd intersection will be implemented to realign the traffic lanes in their final configuration and perform the striping of the intersection. Following this work, the intersection will fully re-open to thru-traffic and no additional full closures of the intersection are anticipated.
Access to all local businesses on Mountain Ave and Duarte Rd will remain open at all times during the street construction. We encourage support of these local businesses.
