Southern California Indian Basketweavers Association Demonstration

Keeping the tradition alive, Indians of California boast the most beautiful baskets in the world! Their baskets speak; carrying personal stories and cultural history. Come and watch these seasoned Native Southern California basketweavers in a rare appearance in Arcadia. Learn about Native plants and their uses. Experience cultural knowledge that has been passed down through thousands of years and is older than any other art or skill in California. This is history at its finest! Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
All programs are free to the public. The Gilb Museum of Arcadia Heritage is located at 380 W. Huntington Drive, Arcadia, immediately behind the Community Center. The hours are Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. (Closed on Sundays and Mondays and 12-1 daily).
