

A teacher was charged March 2, 2015 after he was accused of having a sexual relationship with a student last year, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced. David Park (DOB 10/27/77) of Chino Hills was charged with three felony counts of lewd act upon a child in case KA109090. Park’s arraignment was continued to March 9 at the Los Angeles County Superior Court in Pomona in Department F. Bail was set at $150,000. Prosecutors said at the time of the crime, Park was a chemistry teacher at Los Altos High School in Hacienda Heights. Authorities were alerted by a school official that Park may have been having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old girl, prosecutors said. The criminal complaint alleges that the defendant had sexual interactions with the teen between September and November 2014. If convicted as charged, the defendant faces a maximum sentence of four years and four months in state prison. Additionally, he would have to register as a sex offender for life. The case is being investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
