

Arcadia police officers responded to the 1000 block of South Fifth Avenue Sunday on a 911 call reporting possible gun shots with a person lying in the street.
Once on scene, officers found a male adult suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper torso.
The Arcadia Fire Department paramedics were summoned and administered medical aid. The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The victim was identified as 56-year-old, Yue Zhao, of Arcadia. The suspect is still outstanding and has yet to be identified.
The shooting took place about 9 a.m. just south of Duarte Road, Arcadia police Lt. Mike Castro said in a press release.
Officers responded to a call reporting a “loud bang” and a “person down” to find a man wounded by gunfire, the lieutenant said.
Police kept Fifth Avenue closed between Duarte Road and Leda Lane well into the afternoon as authorities continued their investigation.
