A retired Los Angeles Police Department detective was sentenced recently for having hundreds of images of child or youth pornography, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced. Charles Daniel Henderson, 69, was placed on probation for five years, ordered to register as a sex offender for life, undergo one year of sex offender counseling and perform 30 days of community labor. Last month, Henderson pleaded no contest to one count of possession of child pornography. Deputy District Attorney Samer Hathout of the High Tech Crime Division said Henderson, who worked at LAPD for roughly 20 years, had more than 600 images of child or youth pornography at his home in Downey after a search warrant was served there in October. Case BA433612 was investigated by the Downey Police Department.
