Pasadena Launches ‘China Ready’ Program to Attract Overseas Business

The City of Pasadena announced the launch of its “China Ready” program to grow China visitation to Pasadena Tuesday.

Designed to “raise awareness of Pasadena as a premier destination among Chinese visitors,” ‘China Ready’ intends to develop new methods of attracting, serving and retaining Chinese tourists as well as provide the tools for Pasadena businesses and organizations to attract Chinese visitors.

“China represents a strong growth opportunity for tourism to Pasadena,” said Michael Ross, CEO, Pasadena Center Operating Company, announced the initiative at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, “Our China Ready program will inspire travel to Pasadena from China and showcase our incredible world class cultural and entertainment offerings.”

According to the press release…The objectives of the Pasadena China Ready Program include:

• Increase measurable awareness of Pasadena as a premier destination conveniently located in LA County, and within proximity to major tourist attractions in Los Angeles as well as one of the largest Chinese communities in the U.S.
• Influence measurable engagement and decisions to visit from group tours and foreign independent travelers (FIT).
• Increase bookings with Pasadena Hotels from Chinese visitors.
• Educate Pasadena CVB partners about the Chinese inbound tourism ecosystem and trends.
• Increase participation in “China Ready” programs by Pasadena CVB partners and elevate their services to Chinese visitors.
