

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide detectives continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting death of a man in the 2700 block of Willard Avenue, Rosemead.
On Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2015, at 10:38 p.m., deputies responded to a residence in the 2700 block of Willard Avenue, Rosemead, regarding a 9-1-1 call of a gunshot victim.
Upon their arrival, deputies discovered the victim lying in the driveway suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses described the suspect as being an Asian male wearing all black clothing and running south on Willard Avenue.
Deputies checked the area and located the suspect, a 32-year-old male, in the 2600 block of Willard Avenue. As deputies attempted to contact him, the suspect shot himself in the head with a handgun. The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect’s semi-automatic handgun was recovered at the scene.
It is unknown at this time why the suspect chose to shoot the victim and then kill himself.
