Flu season is coming! Flintridge Pharmacy and Medical Supply will sponsor a free flu shot clinic Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Pasadena Senior Center, 85 E. Holly St.
The clinic will be free for seniors with Medicare Part B or Medi-Cal with Medicare Part B as their primary insurance; the fee for others, including those with Medicare supplement plans, will be $25.
Appointment cards are available at the Welcome Desk or by calling (626) 795-4331.
Responsible for 200,000 hospitalizations and 36,000 deaths nationwide each year, influenza (flu) is caused by a virus that affects the entire body and for seniors may cause pneumonia, dehydration and other serious complications.
Founded in 1959, the Pasadena Senior Center is an independent, nonprofit organization that offers recreational, educational, wellness and social services to people ages 50 and over in a friendly environment. Services are also provided for frail, low-income, and homebound seniors.
