Back in February 1988, the Pasadena Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the area of Lake Ave. and Orange Grove Bl. in the City of Pasadena. When officers arrived, they located a 39 year old male, identified as Leroy Galloway, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he later died. Witnesses observed a suspect fleeing the area and provided descriptions to police. The Pasadena Police Department investigated numerous leads, which led to the identification and arrest of the suspected shooter, Albert Clark. Due to the limitations of forensic science at the time, there was insufficient evidence to prosecute Albert Clark for homicide and he was release without any charges in February of 1989.

In 2013, family members of Leroy Galloway contacted the Pasadena Police Department requesting detectives review this cold case. An extensive examination of the case file by Pasadena Police Homicide Detectives identified items of evidence that were suitable for modern forensic analysis. The ultimate test results by the Los Angeles County Crime Lab implicated Albert Clark in the crime.

On Dec. 7, 2015, Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force as he left his residence in Los Angeles. Clark was booked for homicide. On December 9, 2015, the case was presented to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office who charged suspect-Clark with murder. Albert Clark remains in custody at the Los Angeles County Jail with bail set at $2,000,000.

The investigation is on-going.
