The first Evensong of 2016 will be sung at Saint Luke’s Episcopal Church on Sunday, Jan. 17, at 4 p.m. The church is located at 122 S. California Ave. at Foothill Boulevard in Monrovia.
The Saint Luke’s choir will sing music for Epiphany, joined by many of their favorite guest singers. They will include a contingent from Grace Episcopal Church in Glendora, whose choirmaster, David Aldrete, will share in directing the performance. Selections will include British composer John Linton Gardner’s “Entry of the Three Kings,” written in 1950 but not published until 2012. Jacqueline Stong will be the oboist.
A freewill offering will be taken. There will be a wine and cheese reception in Guild Hall after the service.
