As the 2015-16 Covered California open enrollment period comes to a close, Community Health Alliance of Pasadena (ChapCare) will host its final health insurance enrollment event in the City of Monrovia to help additional people get enrolled before the deadline.

ChapCare’s health insurance enrollment event will take place on Jan. 23 at its Lime Health Center, which is located at 513 E. Lime Ave., just 4 blocks from downtown Monrovia. Event hours are from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. At the event, ChapCare’s Certified Enrollment Counselors will help answer health insurance questions and assist members of the community to enroll in a low or no-cost health insurance plan.

If you do not qualify for financial assistance through Covered California, but instead are eligible for Medi-Cal or the Los Angeles County My Health LA Program, ChapCare can help you enroll in those programs as well. If you do not sign up for health insurance, you will be penalized $695 per adult plus, $347.50 per child, or 2.5 percent of your household income, whichever is greater.

To enroll in a health insurance plan please be sure to bring the following with you to the event:

– CA Driver’s License, CA Identification, passport, utility bill.

– Recent paystubs, last year’s tax return.

– Social Security Card, Naturalization Certificate, Employment Authorization Card, Residency Cards.
