After a multi-agency, collaborative effort and numerous tips from the public, alleged murder suspect Steven Lawrence Wright was taken into custody at a hotel in Boulder City, Nevada, on Monday, Feb. 8.
At 11:45 a.m., during their investigation, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department – Major Crimes Bureau Metro detectives learned the suspect might be hiding in a Boulder City hotel in Nevada. Detectives requested help from the FBI Criminal Apprehension Team, Henderson Police Department, Boulder City Police Department, and Las Vegas Metro Police Department, who each assisted in the apprehension.
The FBI responded to the identified hotel, where Steven Wright was taken into custody without incident.
Steven Wright was erroneously let out of the Inmate Reception Center (IRC) last week and it was not noticed for several hours. As a result of some considerable embarrassment and publicity of the event, a full-on intense manhunt began.
Suspect Steven Wright will be held in a Nevada custody facility, pending an extradition hearing.
