A homeless man was sentenced to two years in state prison to be served in county jail for attacking two Arcadia police officers investigating complaints of aggressive panhandling, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced. Deputy District Attorney Brook White said David King Brewster, 25, entered a no contest plea to one felony count of battery with injury on a peace officer and was immediately sentenced.

On July 6, 2015, Brewster choked an officer and punched another as they attempted to talk to him about panhandling in the area, prosecutors said. Case GA096635 was investigated by the Arcadia Police Department.
