

A Monrovia resident carrying her two-year-old daughter was attacked and stabbed several times by an unknown assailant at an apartment complex Wednesday night.
According to Monrovia PD the incident happened around 11 p.m. in the 200 block of South Madison Avenue. The woman was returning home with groceries and carrying and her daughter when she was suddenly attacked from behind, according to a police statement.
Police said the woman was taken to a hospital with multiple stab wounds to her face, neck, arms and back. The child wasn’t injured.
Monrovia Police said the 36-year-old woman is in critical condition at a hospital. The case is considered attempted murder.
