A Choral Celebration of Popular All-American and Jazz Favorites
The Arroyo Singers presents “American Pastimes,” a spring concert featuring songs by Irving Berlin, George Gershwin, Duke Ellington, Stephen Foster, Rogers and Hammerstein, Bobby Troup, Harry Warren, Harold Arlen, and more … The group will be accompanied by long time pianist Nonna Ayrapetova, a Jazz-Rhythm combo. The group is under the direction of Dr. James Reitzell who has led the group since 1994.
Concert will take place Sunday, June 5, at 4 p.m. at Oneonta Congregational Church (1515 Garfield Ave., South Pasadena).
Tickets: adults $12, seniors/students $10, free for children ages 10 and younger.
The Arroyo Singers is a women’s choral group and was formed in 1961 by a group of Caltech wives. Membership is now made up of a diverse group of singers from all over the San Gabriel Valley, including Pasadena, Arcadia, Sierra Madre, Monrovia, Glendale, La Canada-Flintridge, and South Pasadena. The group welcomes new members at the beginning of September and January.
Tickets are available from Arroyo Singers members or at the door.
