Monrovia city staff and many individuals in the community have been working on two very different projects for several months.
The progress will be presented to the council at its meeting on June 21. The Bob Bartlett Memorial Committee will be making recommendations regarding the mural artists for the project planned for Station Square.
In a second matter, the public services department will be presenting its proposed Bike Master Plan.
The Memorial Committee has narrowed the list to four artists for the mural to honor former Mayor Bob Bartlett. The council will be considering the matter as to the selection of artist.
The artists in question are Carole Choucair Oueijan, Cha-Rie Tang and Gerda Govine, Dawn Mendelson, and Katherine England.
The Bike Master Plan was reviewed on June 15 by the planning commission and will be discussed by the council on Tuesday, June 21.
A copy of the plan is available for review at: www.cityofmonrovia.org/publicworks/page/bicycle-master-plan.
The department of public services has been working with Alta Planning+Design to develop the comprehensive plan.
If approved, the plan will be integrated into the city’s Capital Improvement Program and planning documents and will be a part of the decision process, as the city applies for grants and other funding.
