Residents are advised that the Transportation Department’s parking division continues to clear a backlog of pending preferential parking permit applications.

This year, the department experienced an increase in the number of parking permit applications which caused a delay in issuing some parking permits. All parking permits should be processed and delivered by July 31, 2016 and the city wishes to thank residents for their patience.

The department’s preferential permits are normally valid from July 1 to June 30. However, expired 2015-2016 permits will continue to be honored, including one-day hangtag permits, until the replacement permits are delivered. To date, the division has processed approximately 13,800 preferential permits and has about 700 applications remaining to process.

Permits – including residential, guest permits, and hangtags – that have been delayed due to an unanticipated increase in permit applications, are:

– Time Limited Preferential Parking District (T-District).

– Catalina Preferential Parking District (C-District).

– Holliston Preferential Parking District (H-District).

– Allen Preferential Parking District (A-District).

– Lake Preferential Parking District (L-District).

– Maranatha Preferential Parking District (M-District).

– Oak Knoll Preferential Parking District (O-District).

– Pasadena City College Preferential Parking District (PCC-District).

– State Preferential Parking District (S-District).

Permits not affected by the backlog are:

– Annual daytime and overnight permits.

– Temporary day and night exemptions.

– Moving vehicle parking permits.

– Construction vehicle parking permits.

– Valet parking permits.

– City surface lots parking permits.

– Storage container parking permits.

– RV parking permits.
