Bob and Shirley Willson of Arcadia celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with family and friends at the ever-popular Matt Denny’s. The couple was married on Aug. 10, 1951 at Church of Good Shepherd in Arcadia.

Bob worked as a technical glassblower for Beckman Instruments and DuPont, before opening his own business in 1980 – Willson Scientific Glass of Arcadia, now Monrovia.

Shirley was homemaker until 1971, when she went back to work for the Employment Development Department – State of California. After retiring, Shirley volunteered at the Los Angeles County Arboretum.

This summer they have been enjoying the Summer Concerts in the Park that the City of Arcadia offers.

The couple has two daughters and numerous grandkids.

Congratulations from Arcadia Weekly on your 65th wedding anniversary!
