Arcadians Against Residential Towers (AART) is having a community outreach event/yard sale on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 1833 Louise Ave. in Arcadia.
In the planning commission hearing back in May, the city unanimously denied Verizon’s application. Verizon appealed and the hearing is now scheduled for Sept. 27 at 7 p.m.
AART has gathered over 1,000 petition signatures and put up yard signs all over the neighborhood near the proposed cell tower. If this cell tower is approved, it would become the first cell tower in R1 zone.
This proposed tower could be 73 feet tall, if approved. It is less than 100 feet from a preschool and an elementary school. Residents are concerned for the childrens’ welfare in that immediate area.
