This past week, Monrovia made progress towards completing the planned Hillside Wilderness Preserve improvements. In particular, the four new gates at the Ridgeside and Cloverleaf Access Points have all been installed, and by the end of next week, the gate installation work should be completed. In addition, the trail repair work Monrovia initiated is progressing well, and the team has made significant progress clearing brush and repairing the trail system. Staff had a chance this past week to tour the upgraded trail system, which provides terrific views of the valley and will serve as a great passive recreational hiking trail for our community.
Based on progress to date, all identified work should be completed within the two weeks, and everything is currently on track for us to be able to open the access points located at Ridgeside and Cloverleaf by the end of this month.
