Learning Works Charter School, a Pasadena, California based public school serving area dropouts, is holding its fourth annual fundraiser, Invest in a Dropout on Thursday, Oct. 27. The event features presentations by students and staff, as well as dinner and both silent and live auctions.
“Invest in a Dropout has typically been a fun and compelling event, particularly for the people who are not familiar with our school,” said Mikala Rahn, founder of Learning Works. “We take a completely different approach than traditional schools, and this is a chance to talk about what those differences are in a relaxed setting.”
Invest in a Dropout takes place on Thursday, Oct. 27 at Noor in Paseo from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Auction items include a luxury suite at Staples Center, a Rose Parade/Rose Bowl package, a pool table and a ride-along with a Pasadena Police officer. Tickets are $100 each and tables of 10 are $1,000.
