In keeping with the League’s mission of supporting nonprofit organizations in the Pasadena area, grant checks of $1,200 each were given out at their April 3 luncheon at the Women’s City Club to three very appreciative organizations. There are so many worthy organizations, it is always hard for the League founded in 1911 to choose one over the other.

On hand to accept the checks and give the league their thanks were Ms. Kardia Pinckney, Director of Ideal Youth, Inc.; Ms. Deborah B. Lewis, Development Coordinator, Convalescent Aid Society; and Ms. Gwendolyn  Eberhard, Director Speech and Language Center and Ms. Michelle Cox, Director of Development for Villa Esperanza Services.

Special thanks to WCL First Vice President Sandy McConnell and WCL Board member Rita Elshout, for all the effort they put into this annual well attended event.  For more details of this event and/or to learn more about the League’s history visit our website at www.wclpasadena.org.
