Huntington Hospital recently announced that Stephen A. Ralph, president and CEO, intends to step down in early 2018. Steve joined Huntington Hospital in 1984 as vice president, administration. In 1990, Steve was named executive vice president before being appointed president and chief executive officer in 1995.

“Serving the people of our community for the past 30 plus years has been the highlight of my career,” said Steve. “I have witnessed the most incredible, thoughtful and capable teams at Huntington Hospital do amazing things each day for the benefit of our patients and their families. It continues to be an honor to work alongside such talented professionals.”

Huntington Hospital is working with a national search firm to identify a successor, and anticipates having a candidate in place by year-end 2017, or early 2018. Once the new CEO is on board, Steve will remain with Huntington Hospital for a period of time as a senior advisor to his successor and our Board of Directors.

“The Board of Directors accepts Steve’s decision with great admiration, gratitude and respect,” said Paul Ouyang, chairman, board of directors, Huntington Hospital. “Steve has been instrumental in helping Huntington Hospital realize its potential as a leader in creating community well-being through world-class health care delivered with kindness and dignity. He will leave a true legacy behind.”
