The long awaited renovations at Julian Fisher Park are set to begin starting July 17. The park will be closed to allow construction crews to install new lighting, renovate the basketball courts, and install the new “Portland Loo,” an innovative public restroom.

The work will continue into the fall months. In his weekly City Manager’s update, Oliver Chi has suggested using the basketball courts at the Mary WilcoX Youth Center Gym as an alternative. There are also playground and picnic spaces in Recreation Park. The Wilcox Center is also located in the park at the corner of Mountain and Olive Avenue. If you have any questions, call the Monrovia Public Services Department at (626) 256-8246.
