we take a cultural journey to the country of origin of our famous peacocks Saturday, March 24, 2018, 10 am-3 pm
Peacock Day celebrates India, the ancestral home of the beautiful blue Indian species which reside at the Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden (301 North Baldwin Ave. Arcadia, CA 91007). Our famous birds are descendants of several pairs of peafowl brought from India by Elias J. “Lucky” Baldwin in late 1800’s. Take a cultural journey to India with our peacock celebration featuring Indian classical and folk dances, arts, crafts, and food. The peacocks will be in their full spring plumage! Simply gorgeous. Peacock Day is organized in collaboration with the Hindu Temple Heritage Foundation, a non-profit organization devoted to preserving and promoting the rich heritage of Indian culture. For more information visit www.arboretum.org or call 626.821.4623, Regular admission applies ($9 to $4); Arboretum members free.
