One suspect on the loose

By Staff

On Oct. 9 at approximately 11:24 a.m., Arcadia police officers responded to the 2000 block of Carolwood Dr., on report of a residential burglary in progress.

The arrested suspect was identified as 18-year-old Hassan Deontrae Murphy from Los Angeles. The other suspect is still on the loose, according to the Arcadia Police Department.

As officers responded, a suspicious vehicle was seen fleeing the area at a high rate of speed.  Officers attempted to stop the vehicle and a pursuit was initiated.  During the pursuit, the suspect’s vehicle struck two innocent bystander vehicles and fled.  The suspects entered the westbound 210 Freeway, abandoned their vehicle on the freeway in the city of Pasadena and fled on foot over a retaining wall. With the assistance of Pasadena Police Department patrol officers and their helicopter, one suspect was apprehended and the other suspect was not.

The case is currently under investigation. Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to contact the Arcadia Police Department at (626) 574-5151, case number 1804600.
