Arcadia residents will continue to be represented in the California Assembly by incumbent Assemblymember Ed Chau. Chau, a Democrat, has won the 49th District over Republican, and fellow Arcadian, Burton Brink. Chau was first elected in November 2012 to represent the 49th.

The results were not very surprising as Chau bested Brink by 38 points in the primaries and lead Brink all night as results poured in.

The 49th includes Alhambra, Arcadia, El Monte, Monterey Park, Rosemead, San Gabriel, San Marino, Temple City and portions of Montebello, and South El Monte.
