Arcadia Crime Blotters: March 3 – March 9

March 3

Shortly before 8:06 a.m., an officer responded to Chevron, 500 N. Santa Anita Ave., regarding a fraud report. The reporting party located a credit card scanning device, also known as a skimmer, installed on the cashier’s credit card reader. The investigation is ongoing.

At approximately 10:20 a.m., an officer responded to the 800 block of Fairview Avenue regarding a theft from vehicle report. An investigation revealed an unknown suspect entered the victim’s vehicle through an unlocked door and stole a laptop, designer sunglasses, and miscellaneous items. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

March 4

Just after 8 a.m., an officer responded to the 500 block of West Huntington Drive regarding a stolen vehicle report. The officer discovered an unknown suspect stole the victim’s 1997 Honda Civic sometime during the previous 2 days. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

At approximately 1:40 p.m., an officer responded to Dana Middle School, 1401 S. First Ave., regarding a battery report. A fight broke out between three female students resulting in all three punching each other. The school is conducting a formal investigation.

At 3:58 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 400 block of Columbia Road regarding a residential burglary report. Surveillance footage revealed two black males attempted to burglarize the residence but fled once they saw the security cameras. The investigation is ongoing.

March 5

Around 2:51 a.m., Arcadia Police Department received notification from Irwindale Police Department of a recent arrest involving some stolen property. The officers discovered the 42-year-old male transient was in possession of property stolen from a vehicle burglary that occurred on March 4. A records check revealed the suspect also had an outstanding misdemeanor warrant and one felony warrant. He was arrested and transported to the Arcadia City Jail for booking.

Just before 3:53 p.m., officers responded to Victoria’s Secret, 400 S. Baldwin Ave., regarding a grand theft report. A loss prevention employee witnessed the two suspects steal $3,288 worth of merchandise. They fled in a black Ford Fusion and exited the mall through Gate 8 toward the freeway. The suspects are described as a Black female wearing a pink hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans and a Black male wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and a black beanie. The investigation is ongoing.

March 6

Shortly after 10:30 p.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of West Sierra Madre Boulevard regarding a grand theft of package report. Unknown suspect(s) stole packages containing three new Apple iPhones, a loss valued at nearly $3,400. The investigation is ongoing.

March 7

Before 11:45 a.m., an officer responded to Cement Mason, 5417 Peck Road, regarding a petty theft report. An investigation revealed two suspects stole gardening equipment from the bed of the victim’s truck. The witness described the suspects as a Hispanic male with fair skin, a navy blue sweater, and a baseball hat with “Senior Fish” in red letters. The second suspect was a Hispanic female with dark, medium length hair. They fled in an older white SUV. The investigation is ongoing

March 8

Around 8:26 a.m., an officer conducted an enforcement stop on a vehicle in the area of Huntington Drive and Colorado Place for having fraudulent registration stickers. Upon contacting the driver, the 32-year-old female from Pasadena admitted to driving without a license and being in possession of methamphetamine. The suspect was cited and released in the field.

At about 9:49 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 900 block of West Duarte Road regarding a residential burglary report. Unknown suspect(s) smashed a rear window, ransacked the vacant home, and fled with a black torch adapter. No suspects were seen and no witnesses were located.

Just before 4:23 p.m., an officer responded to Rainbow Spa, 70 E. Live Oak Ave., regarding a grand theft report. The officer discovered two male suspects entered the location and stole an employee’s purse before fleeing on foot. The suspects are described as Black males in their early twenties. The investigation is ongoing.

Shortly after 11:35 p.m., an officer responded to Arcadia Methodist Hospital, 300 W. Huntington Drive, regarding a stolen vehicle report. The victim’s vehicle was stolen from the parking lot sometime after 6:50 p.m. The investigation is ongoing.

March 9

At approximately 12:41 a.m., an officer responded to a residence in the 00 block of West Las Flores Avenue regarding a burglary report. An investigation revealed unknown suspects entered the home by unknown means, ransacked the home, and fled with jewelry and a wall safe. The investigation is ongoing.
