Saturday, May 11 is Fire Service Day. To celebrate, the Monrovia Firefighters Association is holding its Annual Pancake Breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. at Fire Station 101, 141 E. Lemon Ave. The cost is only $5 per person with kids younger than 3 eating free. The best part of this bargain meal is that firefighters use the proceeds to benefit local charities.
Not only are there seconds on pancakes, but there will be informational displays and demonstrations of firefighters in action. There will also be the annual Junior Firefighters Challenge for kids in which they can practice the skills real firefighters use. A bounce house will also be at the station for the youngsters.
If all this were not enough, there are even door prizes. For those who are participating in the Fountain to the Falls Run/Walk, the pancake breakfast makes a great way to regroup after the race.
