Representatives from Athens notified the city recently of their formal request to institute a 4.77% increase for solid waste services which takes effect July 1, 2019. This particular adjustment takes into account both CPI and California State minimum wage cost increases. These increases are consistent with the terms for rate increases that area included in the city’s current contract with Athens Services.
