View Winners → Local Humanitarians to be Recognized Nov. 1 in Monrovia

The Santa Anita Family YMCA and LifeChurch recently announced thatthey will join together to recognize eight community heroes for their selflessand sustained support of families in crisis. Over the past 15 years, thehonorees have labored, led, raised money, and donated to ensure that everyone inthe community has the support they need when disaster strikes.
Donna Baker, Mary Ann and Corey Lutz, Betty Sanford, Becky andChris Shevlin, Pastor Josh Smith and Mountainside Communion Church, and LarrySpicer will be honored at a community celebration in Monrovia’s Library Park onFriday, Nov. 1, 2019. This free family-friendly event is open to all and startsat 7 p.m.
“For the past 15 years these community leaders have given us thesupport to walk alongside youth, adults and families during critical moments intheir lives.” says Ulises Gutierrez, community organizer. “I am grateful forour honorees and am thrilled to welcome my dear friends, Terry Hotchkin, Soniaand Kurt Luginbuhl, and Pastor Richard Brown to the next phase of our communityoutreach efforts.”
Friday’s event will also feature the launch of iNSPIRE, a newcommunity service organization that will focus on crisis response, communityengagement, and family stability.
Attendees will enjoy food provided by Max’s Mexican Cuisine,music, kids’ activities, and raffles.
