In an email to Monrovia Weekly, Schwandt shares the premise of hisproject. “I am holding a donation drive for blankets, sleepingbags, tents, and brand new socks. The blankets and sleeping bags can be used, but they must be washed beforebrought to our collection day.” Monetarydonations will also be accepted and used topurchase new items that are still neededafter the collection day.

The collection day will be held at Methodist Church (140 E. Palm Ave.,Monrovia CA 91016) on Aug. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Those who would like tohelp can also make donations through a GoFundMe page organizedby Schwandt.

Schwandt plans to attend Pasadena City College and says the projectappealed to him “because it helped so many people who are overlooked in oursociety. Sometimes people just need a little bit of help, and I am happy to offer that help for them.”
