Officials said the relatively lower case and death counts reflect a reporting lag over the weekend. The number of people hospitalized in the county due to the virus continues to fall sharply, dropping from 877 Saturday to 793, with 35% of those people in intensive care, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health.
