This year, due to health and safety restrictions regarding COVID-19, the 67th ArcadiaFestival of Bands will take place on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2020 as a virtualparade. More than 12 schools from across Southern California with their band, color guard, drum majors, and drum line will participate. Historical videosfrom past Arcadia Festival of Bands will also be included.

“With allthe challenges facing our community and the world as a whole during theCOVID-19 pandemic, it was important for our students to march forward in theirmusical studies,” said Kevin Sherrill, band and percussion director at ArcadiaHigh School. “The cancellation of public gatherings didn’t mean thecancellation of the spirit of this historic event,” added Tom Plunkett,Arcadia’s band director. “We have adapted and improvised, and we think it’sgoing to be a great program.”

The ArcadiaFestival of Bands has grown to be one of the premiere band reviews in SouthernCalifornia and is the longest-running event of its kind in the whole state. This sustained success is due to the continued support provided by the City ofArcadia, the Fire and Police Departments, the Arcadia Unified School District,Santa Anita Park and local businesses. The parade simply would not happenwithout their cooperation.
