The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Tuesday sought the public’s assistance to locate a 50-year-old man diagnosed with bipolar disorder who was last seen near his home in Hawaiian Gardens.

Armando Chavez was last seen at about 8 a.m. Monday in the 21700 block of Elaine Avenue, between Norwalk and Pioneer Boulevards, near Carson Street, according to LASD.

Chavez is Hispanic, 6 feet, 2 inches tall and weighs 280 pounds with brown eyes, a bald head and a mustache. He also wears glasses and has the names “Armando,” “Jacob,” “Joseph,” “Samuel,” `Isaac and “Abraham” tattooed on his left forearm.

Chavez has also been diagnosed with cancer, diabetes and depression.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts was asked to contact the sheriff’s Missing Persons Unit at 323-890-5500. Anonymous tips can be called in to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or submitted online at lacrimestoppers.org.
