A 64-year-old Pearblossom man was killed when he ran across Pearblossom Highway in Little Rock and was struck by a car, authorities said Monday.
The crash was reported at 8:22 p.m. on the westbound Pearblossom (138) Highway east of 96th Street East, according to California Highway Patrol Sgt. J. Banta.
The victim ran from the east shoulder across eastbound and westbound lanes and was struck by a westbound 2019 Hyundai driven at about 55 mph by a 50- year-old Burbank woman, Banta said.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene, the sergeant said. His name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
The woman stopped and cooperated with the investigation, Banta said.
A SigAlert was issued at 8:35 p.m. shutting down all westbound lanes of the Pearblossom Highway. The lanes were reopened at 10:51 p.m., said CHP Officer Elizabeth Kravig.
Anyone with information was asked to call Officer M. Recalde of the Antelope Valley Area CHP office at 661-948-8541.
