A juvenile was arrested Monday for a hit-and-run that resulted in the death of a teenaged girl in West Covina.
West Covina Police Department officers were called just after 7:35 p.m. Sunday to the area of Asuza Avenue and Fairgrove Avenue on reports of a hit-and-run and found the girl lying unresponsive in the street, according to the department’s Officer Alexus Napoles.
Responding officers attempted life-saving measures, but the girl was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name and age were not released.
WCPD detectives conducted an investigation into the death and located the suspect and vehicle, Napoles said. The driver was arrested Monday for gross vehicular manslaughter, hit-and-run and driving under the influence.
The juvenile driver’s name and age also were not released.
The investigation into the crash was ongoing, Napoles said.
