Aircraft operations were suspended briefly Wednesday at Hollywood Burbank Airport after an unauthorized person entered the airfield.

The incident occurred about 11:50 a.m. at the airport in the 2600 block of North Hollywood Way, according to airport spokesperson Amanda Parise.

The person was taken into custody by airport police within minutes of entering the airfield, and operations were resumed shortly afterward, Parise said.

According to ABC7, the person ran onto a runway and into the path of an airplane. The person was reportedly taken into police custody.
