The City of Duarte will host its annual Holiday Tree Lighting on Wednesday. The event will take place at the Duarte Civic Center (1600 Huntington Drive) starting at 6:30 p.m.
This free community event will feature holiday entertainment, musical performances, crafts for kids, and light refreshments including hot chocolate. Photos with Santa Claus, will also be available. At 8 p.m., City Council and Santa will flip the switch to light up Duarte’s new tree.
“After everything our community has experienced over the past two years, we are excited to be bringing our tree lighting ‘home for the holidays’ with an in-person event right here at City Hall,” said Mayor Pro Tem Margaret Finlay. “I hope residents can join us with their loved ones to enjoy the festivities and also reflect on the joy and peace this time of year brings.”
Attendees are also encouraged to bring a new unwrapped toy to donate to the Duarte Neighborhood Watch Toy Drive supporting local families.
