A 42-year-old woman suspected of breaking into a San Marino home Monday was arrested after being found sitting in the den.
San Marino Police Department officers responded about 10:10 a.m. to the home in the 1500 block of Wilson Avenue, between Los Robles and Oak Knoll avenues, after an alarm was tripped, according to Sgt. Danny Guttierez
Officers at the scene made contact with a family member of the home’s owner and were informed surveillance video showed an unknown woman enter the residence. SMPD officers — in conjunction with officers from the South Pasadena and San Gabriel police departments– searched the residence and found Diane Figueroa of Los Angeles sitting in the den.
Figueroa was arrested by officers, and a further search of the home indicated she allegedly broke into the home by shattering a glass door in the dining room. Figueroa was booked into jail for burglary and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
An investigation into the break-in is ongoing, and anyone with information was asked to call San Marino police at 626-300-0720. Anonymous tips can be called in to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or submitted online at lacrimestoppers.org.
