The Monrovia City Council will field options Tuesday for future housing policy and a potential new ordinance requiring affordable units in new buildings.
During a study session that starts at 6:15 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 415 S. Ivy Ave., Planning Division staff members and consultants from Sagecrest Planning and Keyser Marston will present options for a possible “inclusionary housing” ordinance, according to an announcement by City Manager Dylan Feik’s office.
Inclusionary housing refers to regulations requiring real estate developers to include a council-mandated percentage of affordable housing units as part of new residential development projects.
In addition to the housing policy discussion, council members will also receive a 2024-25 budget update at Tuesday’s meeting.
